Took a chance and pursued a passion! Started a small business to source and serve coffee from world-renowned roasters. We eventually focused on weekly pop-ups and private workshops, but we experimented with different business models on the way there. Including a coffee box subscription and content marketing. We built up a network with local business owners and ran events in their venues. Learned the basics of social media advertising and raced into finding a product market fit.

Lead Product Manager - Google Tv Mobile

Mountain View, Ca, Us

Here I got to try my hand at consumer products. I owned the mobile apps for Google TV, a TV operating system and service that aggregates recommendations from across streaming services. My goal was to increase weekly active users and time in app.The apps were a companion to the TV experience, allowing users to browse content and cast it to their TVs. I inherited the Android app when I joined the team, and worked with the team to launch the iOS app. Major features included the virtual remote, user library (purchased content), watchlist and rich details pages. We launched Highlights, a news feed that personalized entertainment news for each user based on their watch history and watchlist. We also launched people pages, allowing users to learn about their favorite actors and directors.I ran several experiments to improve app usability, addressing common user issues. In my short time on the team we brought up the Android and iOS app ratings from below 3 stars to above 4 stars

Lead Product Manager - Gcp Data Residency

Mountain View, Ca, Us

I started the role just as the org started a major transition. Google Cloud Platform shifted focus to enterprise and regulated industries, and I was in the lead pack driving the change.I owned Cloud Data Residency and started with a single tech lead to develop the problem statement and opportunity. Within two years we grew to an 80 person team and once again I was managing a platform team that touched the entire product suite. We built and provided data location controls for every Google Cloud service/product, so our enterprise customers could adhere to laws and regulations around the world. I worked heavily with the sales team to find the right early customers and I worked closely with the legal team since part of my product was offering data location guarantees to customers. There was significant technical complexity, the underlying platform required a major overhaul. Since Google is a bottom-up organization, I needed to sell my solution to every partner team. We worked with over 40 teams to launch Data Residency tools.By the end of my time on Google Cloud, my team merged with Cloud Security as our mission to serve regulated customers was highly aligned. Together we shipped Assured Workloads, a management tool that helped customers ensure all their cloud services met their regulated industry needs. I learned a lot about US compliance, specifically FedRAMP and CJIS.

Technical Program Manager - Office Core Ux

Redmond, Washington, Us

I began my PM career leading the transition from waterfall to agile methodologies at Microsoft Office. My team developed common components for Office apps and I managed the widely-used rich text editor. We launched in Office 2016 and Office 365 in every Office app; if you read or typed text outside of the Word main canvas, that was my product. I worked with Windows teams to include the text editor as part of the Windows SDK, the Cortana text input and Edge browser omni bar.I gained extensive experience managing multiple partners with different cycles and needs, and prioritizing a large feature backlog. Additionally, I initiated an education-focused project, launching an ink-to-math engine for math equations, supported by research and validated by local educators.I advised on accessibility and internationalization, ensuring compliance with Office’s shipping standards. My contributions have been part of major releases including Windows 10 Creators Update, Anniversary Update, Office 365, Office 2016, Windows 10, and Windows 8.1.

Jul 2012 - Dec 2017
