The S6 is a primary staff officer within an Army Brigade. They work directly for the Brigade XO and they work very closely with the Brigade S3 and Brigade Commander. Advised the commander and staff on all communications related issues. Established and maintained computer networks for six subordinate Battalions of over 5000 personnel. Worked closely with the S3 and XO with the Military Decision Making Process. Maintained and accounted for all communications equipment. Coordinated the integration of Brigade communications systems into those of a supported maneuver headquarters. Coordinated with civilian agencies for communications support. Supervised military and civilian employees on the organizational maintenance of communication equipment. Planned, managed, and directed automation systems administration, maintenance, and security. Established automation systems administration and security procedures for automation hardware and software. Oversaw the Brigade local area networks (LANs) configuration and usage of Brigade network capabilities. Served as the DOD 8570.1 Information Assurance Manager for the Brigade by managing the Army Training and Certificate Tracking System (ATC). Ensured IA compliance with automation and Voice Over IP (VOIP) systems on the NIPRnet and SIPRnet. Performed remote Systems Administration (SA) with elevated permissions to ensure computer hardware and software remained up to date and patched. Held COMPTIA Security+ and COMPTIA A+ certifications during employment.

Served as the Company Commander for Echo Company, 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment. Overall in charge of unit operations and administration which supports the transformation of civilians into soldiers at US Army Basic Combat Training. In charge of up to 240 soldiers per training cycle. Trained and led 42 cadre members which resulted in the transformation of 1300 Civilians into highly trained Soldiers.

Served as an Operations Officer in Charge for the 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment located at Fort Jackson, SC. Responsible for coordinating and planning operations in support of five subordinate companies who trained over 8000 soldiers a year collectively.
