My journey from military service to pursuing a degree in supply chain management at CSUSM has been a testament to resilience. After a year of uncertainty following community college, I enlisted in the Navy, seeking direction and purpose. Balancing military duties while pursuing higher education posed its challenges, with multiple deployments often disrupting semesters and requiring leaves of absence. It was during my last deployment in the UAE where I discovered my true passion for supply chain operations. Building relationships with the host nation and witnessing the intricacies of the supply chain firsthand solidified my decision to complete my enlistment and pursue higher education.Transitioning from military service to academia came with its challenges, leading to moments of doubt and uncertainty. My trajectory changed when I found my "community" at CSUSM. I became an active member of the CSUSM Global Supply Chain Society, Veteran Student Organization, and ASI Lobby Corps. This involvement provided me with invaluable support for personal and professional growth.Since joining CSUSM, I have been honored to receive the Luanne-Bas Student Excellence Award, recognizing my academic achievements and leadership within the CSUSM community. Additionally, I was privileged to be selected for Deloitte’s CORE Leadership Program, equipping me with the skills and mindset to navigate future challenges and opportunities.Grateful for the support and mentorship I've received along the way, I am committed to paying it forward and assisting those in need. My journey from the Navy to CSUSM has shaped me into a resilient leader ready to tackle any challenge.Looking ahead, I am excited to pursue a career in the Defense/Aerospace industry and intend to complement my experiences with an MBA to further enhance my skills and capabilities.
