Mr. Ruffing is a geologist with over 14 years of planning, managing, and conducting a variety of geologic, hydrogeologic, geotechnical, and environmental investigations. His responsibilities have included project planning, implementation, and management of contaminated soil, soil vapor, groundwater and surface water projects, remedial design and remedial action programs, conducting Phase I ESAs; as well as assuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements. These projects include CAMA, CCR, CERCLA, and RCRA programs and have focused on assessment and remediation of soils, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water contaminated by hazardous substances, coal combustion residuals, solvents, hydrocarbons, metals, and/or polychlorinated biphenyls. His experience includes design of soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling programs, design and installation of remedial systems, landfill and levee assessments and maintenance, oversight and management of field operations, personnel training, well installation using numerous drilling methods, and soil and rock logging using USCS/ASTM classifications. Mr. Ruffing has performed projects on active military and commercial airports, active military bases, rural and urban areas, industrial businesses, and railways. Mr. Ruffing has performed consulting services for private, state, and federal clients throughout the country.
