For one semester I helped place student teachers in schools and file their paperwork. For another semester I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a class on the History of the Middle East. I was required to take attendance, assist in grading assignments, fill out adequate notes in case a student would miss class and wished to know what he or she had missed, and I was able to teach a class on how Arabs are portrayed in the American film industry.

Estes Park, Co

Organizing, displaying, and presenting the world's largest public key collection at a historic inn located in the mountains near Rocky Mountain National Park. I was tasked with interacting with guests and giving the historical background of the Baldpate Inn, as well as the background of the key collection and even giving a presentation on some of the most famous keys that are on displayed at this unique site. Some of those keys included the key to Edgar Allan Poe's dorm room at the University of Virginia, a key from the dressing room of Jack Benny and Mary Livingston, the key from the fire alarm box that warned the city of Chicago about the Great Chicago Fire, and so many more.

Kankakee, Il

I archive a diverse amount of documents such as deeds, tax papers, and many others related to Kankakee County. I also helped redesign an exhibit on the evolution of the printing press, as well as locating artifacts within the museum archives and restoring them for display purposes. I was also able to help with the organization and display of different rooms in the Dr. Small house in Kankakee, Illinois.

Davenport, Iowa Area

I had multiple responsibilities as an intern at the Putnam. I worked in collections and focused on cataloging a large quantity of Ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian artifacts. Furthermore, I have helped catalog different artifacts such as a Prohibition era distillery system and a collection of phonographs manufactured by the Thomas Edison Company in the early 1900s. I had the opportunity to help create a piece to display for an exhibit on the evolution of computer technology and explaining what elements are most common in technology in the present day. I also helped with educational programs for children, peaking their interest in learning about the world around them. Finally I was able to help prepare the traveling exhibit space for the Princess Diana Exhibit for its last appearance in the Midwest.
