Semiconductor R&D Dry Etch Process Engineer for III-V high frequency GaAs and InP devices. • Primary engineer for Plasma dry etch and Ion Milling process development on a number of current technology platforms including.• Responsible for 24-hour semiconductor manufacturing support, process development, statistical process control (SPC), training technicians and presenting at review meetings.• Manage dry etch NTI process development for next generation technologies, including characterization, material selection, DOE’s, and presenting updates.• Drive self-motivated projects to increase production efficiency, mitigate process risks and reduce process downtime by designing new process flows.• Investigate and understand device failure mechanisms through electrical and optical characterization in coordination with Integration Engineers. • Work with OEM to evaluate tool performance and potential process issues. Thesis Project: Exploring properties and devices using semiconductor nanomaterials for applications in optical communications, phase change memory, and medical diagnostics. • Designed, fabricated and tested devices with wide variety of materials including CdS, Si and GeTe nanowires, Graphene and 2D MoS2 in UPenn nanofabrication facility.• Developed and fabricated self-aligned II-VI semiconductor CdS nano-ribbons for integrated photonic devices. • Investigated non-linear optical behaviors of semiconductor nanoribbon devices and demonstrated the ability to generate and modulated new SHG tensor components.• Five publications Co-authored and currently in preparation. Presented work at largest Materials Science conference.

I wrote assignments and led recitations for 15 graduate students in a course covering the fundamentals of material science concepts.

I created and led projects for 25 graduate students inside UPenn's Quattrone Nanofabrication Facility's class 10 clean room.

I was in charge of training users on tools inside the QNF clean room. This involved creating new processes and trouble shooting. Tools included magnetron sputtering, electron beam physical vapor deposition and wire bonding.

I worked with Prof. Neer Asherie on understanding protein crystallization and phase behavior. I developed new protocols for purifying, crystallizing and characterizing proteins. Protein phase behavior is poorly understood for most proteins. The complex nature of protein folding and protein crystallization makes this a difficult problem. Understanding the kinetics and thermodynamics of these systems is crucial for may pharmaceutical applications as well as understanding new ways to treat Alzheimer's, cataracts and other diseases that are cause by changes in protein phase behavior. Using Thaumatin and Lysozyme as model systems we demonstrated unique control over protein phase behavior by meticulously controlling the chiral precipitants used during crystallization.

I worked with Prof. Duncan Graham on the synthesis, functionalization and optical characterization of metallic nanoparticles for sensitive detection of target bio-analytes using the enhancement from surface enhanced resonant raman scattering (SERRS).
