As president, I was in charge of scheduling tournaments, overseeing all of the club’s expenses, and recruiting/maintaining the club’s attendance each week. I helped grow the club from 3 people to 20 in just one year and the numbers have been climbing each year. I learned how to lead as well as delegate the work throughout the group.

As a partner with the Special Olympics, I was tasked with assisting and coaching the flag football team. Our mission was to allow both players with disabilities and without to play on the same team, breaking stereotypes and leading a path of friendship and understanding.

During the internship I was awarded 240 clinical hours working alongside a patient care technician. I observed surgeries and assisted in administrative duties. The internship taught me how to thrive in a very fast paced environment.

As a camp counselor I managed a group of 10-12 kids each week teaching them Hawaiian values and leadership. I oversaw creating and teaching new activities throughout the weeks and following a very strict schedule. I was fortunate enough to be awarded counselor of the year which is given to one counselor who embodies the Hawaiian values as well as demonstrates leadership among their peers.
