I am a dedicated and driven Biological Engineering student at The Pennsylvania State University, specializing in Food and Biological Process Engineering. I am passionate about applying my knowledge and experience to the food industry.Currently, I am a Learning Assistant for 'Engineering Elements of Biochemistry and Microbiology' at Penn State, where I host weekly office hours, attend lectures and labs, and facilitate exam reviews. This role allows me to stay up-to-date with the latest in my field and contribute to the learning experience of fellow students.During my 2023 internship at Locus Fermentation Solutions, I had the opportunity to optimize growing conditions for Trichoderma fungi using solid substrate fermentation. I also created process diagrams and flow charts for Locus Agriculture products and processes, contributing to their ongoing success.In my previous role as a Food Safety Quality Regulatory Intern at Cargill Salt (2022), I managed food quality projects, including the implementation of a reject pipe for a metal detector and the installation of magnetic piping. I also acquired valuable lab experience by performing weekly purity and brine testing, demonstrating my commitment to quality and safety.My experience extends to the plant environment and culture at the Boston Beer Company, where I worked as a Seasonal Packaging Assistant in 2020 and 2021. I collaborated with a diverse team to meet production goals and troubleshoot machine issues, when needed. I am now actively seeking a full-time engineering position in the food industry, where I can leverage my internship projects and hands-on experience to drive innovation and excellence.
