Presenter at the Western Institute of Nursing National Conference. The presentation dealt with our research and service in the veteran community. It was awarded first place in the preliminary round and honors for the final round of competition.

Presenter at BYU’s Cecil S. Samuelson Leadership Conference. I represented the College of Nursing, and my presentation focused on the curriculum associated with the White House Joining Forces Campaign and improving health care for veterans.

As a nursing student, I worked over 900 hours in various hospital and clinical units including Cardiovascular ICU, Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, Neonatal ICU, Medical Surgical, Oncology, Nephrology and Alzheimer’s care.

War-Related Illness and Injury Study Center and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. During this internship, I worked with and researched veterans and their service-related needs including polytrauma, PTSD, mental illness and drug abuse.

In this capacity, I supervised the circulation of medical textbooks and supplies for 384 nursing students at the circulation desk and labs, managed two large labs, prepared exams and assignments for professors, and assisted students to fulfill lab requirements.
