I conducted comprehensive health and safety surveys, exposure/risk assessments, and data analyses, leading to actionable recommendations for risk control. My responsibilities included effectively communicating findings to diverse audiences, maintaining current knowledge of government regulations and university policies to ensure compliance, and demonstrating expertise in the technical aspects of regulatory requirements and their impact on campus safety.As a subject matter expert in conducting surveys for hazardous construction materials, focusing on asbestos and lead-containing materials, and industrial hygiene, ensuring compliance with local regulations in educational institutions in indoor air quality, I developed and delivered safety training presentations, continuing education courses, and other guidance materials to promote a culture of safety. I collaborated with cross-functional teams to evaluate and select contractors based on cost-effectiveness, quality, and performance metrics, resulting in improved service delivery. I monitored project timelines and milestones, tracked expenses, and negotiated contract terms and conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities while safeguarding the organization's interests.I oversaw a comprehensive portfolio of contracts and construction projects with budgets ranging from $5,000 to $150 million, including the management of Stanford's entire portfolio of over 1,100 buildings spanning more than 30 million square feet. This diverse portfolio included office spaces, classrooms, residential complexes, dining venues, warehouses, hospitals, laboratories, and areas dedicated to engineering, manufacturing, and research activities.I developed and implemented safety programs, including safety policies and procedures, hazard identification and risk assessments, industrial hygiene protocols, and safety engineering and industrial training and education programs.

Working in the Department of Public Health I was tasked to perform technically difficult industrial hygiene work in connection with hazardous materials and other health and environmental hazards in the City and County of San Francisco, independently conducted routine industrial hygiene monitoring of chemical, biological, and physical agents and served as a technical resource to departmental management and other personnel in identifying, containing and regulating the use and storage of hazardous materials, along with developed and implemented an inspection practices and procedures to investigate and evaluates health and safety hazards and coordinates remedial action with representatives from various departments, other agencies, businesses and the public. I anticipated, identified, evaluated, and controlled occupational safety and health and environmental hazards for personnel working in proximity to hazardous waste remediation or hazardous materials, along with developed, modified, and maintained health and safety programs for City and County of San Francisco personnel. I developed and conducted health and safety training, and conducts programs concerning the proper use, storage and disposal of hazardous materials and the regulation of hazardous materials according to law to representatives from various City and County departments, other agencies, businesses and the public. I also assisted in administrative tasks related to implementation of ordinances, codes and other regulations and maintained technical reference materials and records which compiled data and prepares reports. I worked with multiple programs within the environmental health branch such as the respirator protection program, noise program, asbestos program, Hazardous Materials Program, CUPA, and the APSA programs. While in charge I conducted building inspections, developed standard operating procedures, trained new employees, and enforced all applicable law, guidelines and regulations.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, I was responsible for performing the full range of professional level environmental work in connection with health, chemical, physical and biological hazards in places of employment related all local, state and federal regulations. I conducted services including but not limited to, specialized health inspections, accident/illness investigations, and consultations assignments related in connection with health, chemical, physical and biological hazards in places of employment throughout the State; assist the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director In developing procedures and guidelines for conducting audits, inspections, and accident/illness investigations; leads, plans, organizes, reviews and directs the work of teams assigned to perform inspections (e.g. Heat, Legionella, Silica, Asbestos, Fatal health related accidents/illnesses, health complaints, etc.), and special assignments (e.g. Enforcement Task Force projects; Special Emphasis Projects); evaluates work performance of health engineers and prepares written training development plans to help improve staff performance for management; conducts committee meetings to revise or propose new health orders within all state regulations, perform in-service and on-the-job training of staff, and works in the Regional office and travels throughout the state as required. Worked with the multiple agencies and departments to ensure new buildings are built up to code all local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations were followed. I was also tasked with developing programs for promotion of industrial hygiene concepts; consults with labor, management and public groups on the more complex and sensitive health problems/hazards; assist the Regional Manager with the implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs including but not limited to, IIPP, Heat Prevention Program, Respiratory Protection Program, Medical Surveillance Program, etc.

Proactively worked to protect the long-term liability the company’s renovation, demolition, and maintenance clients with respect to handling hazardous materials. I managed multiple industrial and environmental projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while meeting client requirements and exceeding expectations. Conducted site assessments for hazardous building materials, remediation project monitoring, personal and air sampling, I have provided supervision and coaching to staff and assign work activities, monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures, developed and presented to the client written field reports associated with industrial hygiene, asbestos, and environmental projects. I have coordinated program analysis and policy development for the company, with consults with internal and external experts and stakeholders in the development and implementation of programs and policy development projects. I participated in the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; administer the approved budget. I have recommended the appointment of personnel, provide or coordinate staff training, conduct performance evaluations, implement discipline procedures as needed as well as maintain discipline and high standards necessary for the efficient and professional operation of the company.
