Responsible for developing and delivering marketing, communication and promotional materials for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s event line-up. This includes work on the Halifax Business Awards, Luncheons, Small Business Week, the Wonder Women conference and Business After Hours networking events. The Program Coordinator’s main responsibility is preparing for Small Business Week, including creating content for and monitoring social media, managing a #ShopLocal social media contest, executing the communications plan, and assisting with event planning and execution. Other responsibilities include: managing Business After Hours events, assisting with the Halifax Business Awards preparations, developing communications materials for the events indicated above, and updating and creating written and digital content for presentations and publications (Business Voice magazine).

Reporting to the Communications Specialist, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the assistance in developing and delivering marketing, communication and promotional materials for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s event line-up. This includes work on the Halifax Business Awards, the Annual General Meeting, luncheons, Spring Dinner and Business After Hours. The Program Coordinator will assist various departments in achieving their strategic goals throughout the year. Key responsibilities include: managing Business After Hours events, developing communications materials for the events indicated above, providing support for the Chamber’s government relations for the provincial, municipal and federal budget submissions, preparing for the board offsite and strategic plan execution, updating and creating written and digital content for presentations and publications, and creating content for Business Voice magazine and social media.
