With over 20 years of work experience in the fields of the build environment and sustainability, I am passionate about promoting Swedish-Brazilian collaboration in science and innovation. As the Innovation and Science Counsellor at the Embassy of Sweden in Brazil, I have, during more than 5 years, lead the strategic development and implementation of bilateral initiatives, projects, and events that foster knowledge exchange, research cooperation, and business opportunities between the two countries. Networking and mapping of the innovation and research ecosystems in both countries has been one of the most important roles in this position. I am motivated by the shared vision of advancing sustainable development, social inclusion, and innovation, specially in the thematic areas of Bio economy, Health, Sustainable Cities and Sustainable Mining Before my counsellor role at the embassy, I have also run my own consulting firm, Paulsen Consultoria, where I provided specialized services in different areas related to sustainability in the construction sector. I have extensive experience and knowledge in conducting life cycle assessment, ecological footprint, carbon footprint, material flow analysis, and environmental assessment and energy calculations of materials, products, buildings, and cities. I have also worked in a very deep level analyzing certification system like BREEAM and LEED and also been involved in the development of the Swan ecolabelling for buildings and materials. Furthermore, I have a strong academic background and have published several papers and articles about energy and buildings, Life Cycle Assesment and sustainability. I also served as a visiting professor at the University of Brasilia, where I taught and researched on sustainable development in the construction sector and the built environment.
