With The Garland Company being a customer focused single-source, full-service manufacturer of top quality building envelope products and solutions a Sales Apprentice is not only expected to expand the customer base but also act as a single source contact between the customer, contractor, and architect/engineer (if applicable). A Sales Apprentice helps the customer develop the scope of work, specifications and act as the project manager, seeing every job through from start to finish which separates The Garland Company from the competition.

Work with multiple different levels of customers from the refrigeration contractor, engineering firms and the end user themselves to create a specification, sequence of operations, and unit footprint to meet their specific process requirements to provide the best quality product while still being cost effective. Manage multiple jobs and teams including electrical teams, cad teams, and factory workers to ensure product quality and ensure specification is met. Build and hold long lasting relationships with customers face to face by traveling on jobsites, offices, tradeshows, etc. to help troubleshoot units, walk the job site to build the correct specification, give presentations, and show appreciation of the customers.

Travel to jobsites to ensure product quality of units. This includes confirming functionality of all components, ensuring the programming works correct according to the sequence of operation and fixing the program as needed, fixing any electrical wiring mistakes, ordering and replacing/installing new components.

Create an accurate representation of a product's production system using a simulation software for the current and future state. Run experiments to improve the systems throughput and cycle times and give recommendations to incorporate within the system.

The project focused on the Chevy Equinox silver powder coat rails. Using quality analysis tools, 5S, and information gathering, to reduce the defect rate and rework of the rails.
