I've been working in coffee since 2012. I started as a barista with Caribou coffee and worked there until 2014 when my business region was converted to Peet's coffee. After the conversion I took a serious interest in beverage craft and worked every day to hone my skills. I competed in and won a barista competition in 2016 in my district. A few months later I was promoted to shift lead. Again in 2018 I competed in and won a barista competition in my district. I took classes and received the Advanced Barista title in 2018. I was training to become an Assistant Manager for my store starting in January 2020 when my store temporarily closed due to Covid. My store was permanently closed in late May of 2020. I've since started back as a barista as a different location since August 2020.
