During my tenure, Nosler experienced dramatic company and capacity expansion, realizing an increase of annual production of over 40%. Meeting market demands required significant production equipment improvements as well as new product offerings. I was responsible for design and production of new hunting and target bullets, as well as their manufacturing tooling, including Impact extrusion, deep drawing, cupping, blanking heading, and component assembly. I was responsible for the design of several products whose performance set new industry standards in aerodynamics and terminal performance for hunting bullets. Notably, the Accubond Long Range product line whose terminal performance boasts an unmatched effective velocity range and reduced drag previously only realized with special purpose target projectiles. In addition to bullet design, I performed several complete overhaul and equipment designs that expanded and improved the capability of ICOP and A-frame style transfer press equipment. Ballistic Lab responsibilities included oversight of ballistics lab personnel, analysis and testing of internal/external ballistics and terminal projectile performance on varying target medium. Reloading Guide load development and testing and daily evaluation of production product.

Maintaining my employment with Lancair, our name changed to Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing. Around this time I moved to the Structures/Stress group providing structural justification, testing, and new design support. I also began FEM stress work using Nastran/Patran specializing in composite structures.

Starting in 2004 with Lancair, I was hired first as a Sustaining Design engineer, responsible for maintaining and improving current type design. In August of 2004 I shifted to a direct support role as a Liaison Engineer providing MRB dispositions and repairs for production. In 2005 the company changed its name to Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing.
