About Jacob Singleton
A lifelong passion for aviation and all things mechanical directed me into a career as an engineer in the aerospace industry. Since entering the workforce, I was subject to a plethora of engineering tools and tasks unique to a medium sized company. Lancair had just enough resources to provide a significant toolbox to work with, but budgetary constrains required that every employee wear many hats. This atmosphere accelerated my learning curve, allowing me to gain significant experience in a broad array of engineering disciplines from initial design to materials testing and full scale test articles. Some of my areas of focus have been: Design of advanced composite primary structure; Finite element analysis; Fatigue and damage tolerance; Stress analysis of flight structures; and Repair methods for advanced composites. My skills afford me a specialty in repair for composite primary structure, mandating an acute grasp of both technical knowledge and its practical application in the field. I often give educational on-site seminars to service technicians to help dispel misconceptions and uncertainty that often plague composite technology.I have also explored other avenues of my passion for mechanics while working for Nosler Inc.. I gained significant skills regarding machine design and implementation for high speed and high volume production equipment.Specialties: Design and analysis of repairs for advanced composite primary structures; air frame stressing and sizing; Industrial machinery design; automated systems.Structural analysis using discrete finite element modeling of linear and nonlinear system response through static and dynamic loading conditions.
