Jacob is a Computer Science graduate from Anderson University, where he also minored in Spanish. He is passionate about the boundless potential of the future, drawing inspiration from Søren Kierkegaard's words: "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."Coming from a small town of about 4000 people surrounded by cornfields, Jacob has always aspired to transcend the small-town lifestyle he grew up in. His high school experience with Project Lead The Way classes provided a strong foundation for his college education and future career.Jacob has a diverse technical skill set, having learned over 13 programming languages, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in 7 of them (Java/Kotlin, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL). He has practical experience in software engineering, having worked as a Software Engineer at BeneSys Inc., where he implemented a real-time data transaction tool and helped architect multiple support websites using Azure tools. During his internship at Beacon Technologies Group Inc., he gained expertise in HIPAA-compliant software solutions and developed front-end features using Java.Jacob's portfolio includes contracted work such as building a website for Anderson University Soccer Camps and creating a psychology research tool for Anderson University's Psychology Department. His senior capstone project involved developing a website to help professors derive word sets connecting specific emotions to words in children. Additionally, he has undertaken projects like Rodney Clicker, a game development project, and a House Price Predicting AI, showcasing his versatility and application of artificial intelligence concepts.Jacob is also working towards certifications such as AZ-204: Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure and has completed a .Net FullStack Developer course via Coursera. His skills include Agile/SCRUM, Web Design, DevOps, Node.js, and more. He is eager to continue growing as a developer and is particularly interested in keyboards, Formula 1, and large language models.
