I have graduated in December of 2022. I am currently seeking employment opportunities regarding my education and background in Chemical Technology. My duties at Ivy Tech included maintaining and orderly appearance as well as clean glassware and tools availability. It was expected of me to maintain the stock of the chemical inventory and ensure the students have whatever it is they need for labs, rather rudimentary for laboratory technician work.Since I was also a student in the program, I have acquired a robust set of analytical techniques both instrumental and wet chemical. I take a great amount of pride in my ability to identify an unknown organic sample using an NMR and FTIR.My favorite semester thus far was spent doing the research class for the program. I spent the entire semester identifying select analytes, mostly using UV/Vis and colorimetric reactions. Things did not often go as planned and it was very frustrating. As the issues were resolved and progress was made, I felt like a true analyst, a scientist, a researcher. That is what I would like to do every day. How I felt when I reached the end made me feel like the real deal. I would like to either work as a QC Analyst or a Laboratory Technician. My education has included Karl-Fisher Titration as well as HPLC, GC, GC-MS, and ICP. Microsoft Excel was frequently used to translate our data into a visual aid.You will be hiring a reward driven individual who has plenty of hands-on experience with both analytical instruments and chemical reactions upon graduation who knows how to comprehensively maintain a laboratory notebook.
