Henderson Lab

During my internship at Tufts University in Henderson's lab, which focuses on engineering education, I had the opportunity to conduct a study on potential biases against individuals with accents. Motivated by my personal experiences, I wanted to investigate if such biases truly exist. By gaining hands-on experience in research and data analysis, I have strengthened my ability to approach complex problems being well-organized and thoughtfully. It also heightened my awareness of inclusivity issues in technology, inspiring me to advocate for and contribute to the development of more equitable tech solutions. This research was carried out with the invaluable assistance of Trevion Henderson, Colette Higgins, David Zabner, and Alejandra Vasquez.

As an amphibian scholar, I was taught skills to enhance both my swimming abilities and STEM interests. I have participated in classes related to Computer Science and 3D printing. In the Computer Science class, I developed a text-based Pokémon game using the names of my mentors, which I then presented to other scholars. In the 3D printing class, I learned 3D modeling and printing techniques, culminating in a project where I created a Greninja model.
