About Jacob Venable
Ever since my sophomore year of high school, I knew that I wanted to make my living through some kind of programming. After being exposed to multiple avenues that could scratch that itch, I finally found my love of the web. I discovered how rewarding it was to build something that can be seen and used by millions of people in an instant.Although I have an understanding and have practiced various aspects involved in creating web applications — UX/UI design, graphic design, and back-end web development — I have found my core interest in front-end web development. I get the benefit of being able to flex my programming muscles when creating a web application, while also having something pretty to look at when it's complete.I graduated from Purdue University in May of 2014 with a major in Computer Graphics Technology and a minor in Computer Science. I ended up loving the place so much that I took a job as a web developer for Purdue's Office of Marketing and Media where I worked to modernize our team's workflow as well as the products we create for the university.After getting a little too comfortable with my position there, I decided to pivot my career towards web application development and joined the Nutrien Ag Solutions team. There I've been creating tools to assist in the success of our growers.
