Coming into my sophomore year of college, I knew I wanted to work for the University of Cincinnati's athletic department. This opportunity came to me in class, and I am forever grateful for it. Before sporting events, I have to set up gates around the concourse, ensure that any tailgating areas are ready to go, and ensure that the concourse as a whole is clean and secure. During games, I have to patrol the concourse to answer any questions fans might have and help out at any gate that needs some extra support. After the games, I break down gates, tailgating areas, anything on the field/court, and any other signs that we had put up. Overall, it's a great experience to understand what goes into setting up sporting events, and this has only furthered my knowledge of the sports world.

Working at i9 Sports I was gifted the opportunity to work for a successful sports organization. At work, I officiated kids flag football games for ages 4-10, and got to coach my own team of kids aged 10-12. It was truly a blast interacting with the youth and watching them have a great time when they played. Coaching was easily the best aspect of this job as I got to teach the kids about the different positions in football and how to be a part of a team. I even implemented a playbook for the kids to learn, so coming into huddles I said a play and they knew it off the top of their heads. I also had some smaller duties in selling mouthguards to parents if kids needed them, setting up the field, and setting up the canopy for the other workers.

Over the summer of 2023, I worked at PF Changs in my hometown. I learned a great deal about being an effective communicator while working due to how busy the restaurant would get at night. Making sure everyone was on the same page was absolutely crucial for everyone working. I also refined my skill in working in a fast-paced environment while working there. I was also able to learn several different stations so that in the scenario where we were down a worker, I could bounce between stations to make shifts run smoothly. Overall, it was a really great experience to hone in my skills in teamwork, leadership, and flexibility.

I learned plenty of skills and information from my time at GLS. I tracked the income and expenses for every course being run during the year through Excel. I also updated the monthly budget and cash balance by going through bank statements. I sent out course reviews from surveys out of our CRM to the course instructors. I analyzed customer details when they registered for each course. I emailed customers about a free online course if they signed up for the newsletter. Additionally, I created graphs and tables to show the relationship between projected revenue and actual revenue.

I took great pride in being a crew leader at Charlie's. Interacting with the community was a great way to brighten my day. I excelled in the customer service aspect of this job and was praised by the adults for being approachable and friendly. I made sure that everything was running smoothly during the fast-paced rushes and assigned different members to different jobs. I also cooked hot, quality food for customers to enjoy at any time of day. I ensured that the register and safe were up to date with the correct amount of money in each, and made money drops when needed.
