Over the years I have been able to work with some great organizations learning many different skills in different departments to become a well-rounded worker.I started working as an accounts payable intern the summer before my senior year of high school. During my two summers there I performed tasks such as filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records. I learned skills that are applicable to many other jobs.During my first semester at Virginia Tech, I started an internship with the Virginia Tech Football Operations Team. There I developed many skills such as communication, organization, attention to detail, and people skills. This past summer I moved from my work in the accounting office to the production offices to learn more about the way production is handled from a management perspective. I wanted to be able to work a hands-on job and really be integrated into the processes of Interstate Group. This job allowed me to reach out to departments such as maintenance, shipping, inventory, and production as a whole.Each job has given me a wide set of skills that I will be able to apply to any job I hold in the future. Although each job has been extremely different from the others they have all taught me to be adaptable, things can change in a second and I have never gotten too comfortable with the work that I have. I have learned that I need to stay on my toes and expect things to go differently than normal. I have also developed personal skills. Communication is essential to each one of the jobs that I have had and I have had to work with very big personalities that many people wouldn't know how to communicate to. Each job has also effectively taught me how to organize in the most optimal way, something I take pride in. I am a student who is well-rounded and is an extremely hard worker. I am willing to take on any task that is given to me and I will do it to the best of my ability.
