Worked to improve the environmental impact of HP's facilities and operations through zero waste, water reduction, energy efficiency, and renewable energy initiatives that engage employees, provide financial benefits, and embed sustainability in our company culture.

Worked to improve the sustainability of all HP product packaging by managing global programs to eliminate hazardous materials, reduce material use, improve recyclability, increase recycled content, and decrease the use of single-use plastics. Was also responsible for creating and evangelizing HP's sustainable packaging strategy and setting ambitious goals, such as HP's goal to eliminate 75% of single-use plastic packaging by 2025.

Worked with members of HP's Social and Environmental Responsibility team to develop multiple competitive analysis tools by researching environmental product features and initiatives undertaken by HP and other competing companies. These tools were used to identify and market superior sustainability qualities of HP's products and indicate any disadvantages that HP may want to improve in order to remain competitive in the marketplace.

After my ten-week MPL Summer Internship Program, I was asked to stay on as an Engineering Assistant under the Ocean Physics Group at Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Worked along side Professor Matthew Alford, several engineers, and graduate students in calibrating, updating, and preparing oceanographic equipment for the Tasmanian Tidal Dissipation Experiment (TTIDE) of 2015. I was also able to participate in a graduate student research cruise in December 2014 to explore turbulent waters in the La Jolla Submarine Canyon.I later worked underneath Professor Drew Lucas as part of his CGen project. C-gen's mission was to create a small, wave-powered generator. Designed to generate 1-10 Watts, the goal was to be able to power moored oceanographic instruments using wave energy.

Worked with other undergraduate interns in the Ocean Physics Group, a part of the Marine Physical Laboratory at Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Participated in hands-on design, development, and fabrication of experimental instruments for research cruises in Physical Oceanography.http://opg1.ucsd.edu/index.html

Assisted two Scripps professors in teaching a summer course on " The Living Oceans and Global Climate Change" for high school students. Helped develop lesson plans and orchestrate relevant group environmental science experiments.
