Pride In Practice Project Manager
This role involved working with the Government Equalities Office to launch and deliver an exciting national pilot that aims to make a difference to the experiences and outcomes of LGBT patients in primary care. I lead a team to engage with and support primary care services across Greater London to develop their clinical practice, policies and cultures in order to better hear and meet the needs of their LGBT patients. I was also responsible for identifying and advancing opportunities for growth and partnership working, including the development of a bespoke programme for sexual health and maternity settings.The pilot far exceeded initial targets, engaging over 450 primary care services in a training, quality assurance and social prescribing model and award programme. This role requires the ability to influence, evidence, and deliver impact on a local, regional and national scale. This role also involves working closely with NHSE, government, and regulatory bodies like GMC, RCGP, and CQC to influence conversations around key healthcare issues such as cancer screening, care pathways, PrEP, bridging prescriptions, data monitoring, and IT systems.
