Outside of work, I am an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, and currently serve as a board member for the Minority Outdoor Alliance. I have appeared on multiple platforms discussing conservation in Indian Country. I am also a published composer of choral and orchestral music, and formerly worked as a professional musician in Los Angeles. I have performed with groups such as the Rolling Stones, and in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Disney Concert Hall, and Coachella. I am also a published writer, having most recently contributed the chapter "Understanding Tribal Lands and Treaty Rights" in the book Hunter & Angler: Field Guide to Raising Hell (2023).
