Through work study opportunities, I was given the responsibility to help recruit prospective students. I show them around campus and talk about all the things Gustavus has to offer their students. I answer any questions they may have, and am enthusiastic and helpful in order to make them feel comfortable.

Oversaw residential life in an on-campus dorm. Enforced rules, settled conflicts between residents, and created an accepting, fun community for all that lived in the dorm. Acted as a leader to ensure everyone who lived on campus felt safe and had a great experience.

Assist students in a chemistry labarotry. Help them understand concepts, procedures, and safe lab protocol. Grade and give feedback on weekly reports.

I worked with skiers under the age of seven. I taught them skiing techniques and how to have fun and be part of a team.

Cross Lake, MN

As a member of the program staff, I helped come up with and run programs for campers with various disabilities - Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and skin and heart diseases. I was also in charge of ensuring camp ran smoothly by working in the kitchen and cleaning cabins.

I coach high school alpine ski racers by teaching them techniques on how to improve their skiing, as well as encouraging them and helping them grow as individuals and as a team.

I created coversheets for loan documents, scanned them into an online database, and checked them to ensure there was no missing pages. I went from branch to branch helping out anyone who needed me.

As an EMT in training, I assisted certified EMTs in caring for patients in need. I took vital signs, talked to the patient, and helped administer treatment.

I was a referee for youth soccer games. At times I was an assistant, and ran down the sidelines in order to help the center referee. At other times I was the center referee, and took full responsibility of running the game and keeping order (which isn't always easy in youth soccer games).
