Jack Byers is a veteran technology executive who has worked at the highest levels in the defense and commercial sectors. He is Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard Marketing International, Inc., a consultancy founded in 1992. VMI’s client list includes some of the world’s largest and most innovative companies. VMI has developed a process-oriented approach for delivering growth and differential advantage to its clients. At its most basic, the approach creates knowledge flows between three elements: (a) customer engagement for problem breakdown and re-clarification; (b) new or underutilized technologies and how they might be deployed in new markets or domains; and (c) trends and patterns in business and technology which inform both timing and potential for market disruption. Prior to establishing VMI, Byers was the General Manager of a high technology Joint Venture which served as the exclusive distributor & product localization arm of Microsoft in the former Soviet Union (1987-1991), and later the General Director of Summit Systems, a personal computer joint venture in Byelorussia (1990-1991).
