The BLI mission is to serve as the world's leading interdisciplinary center for Biomedical Optics by developing new, enabling biophotonic technologies, applying biophotonic technologies to important problems in biology and medicine, training students, fellows, and physicians in Biomedical Optics research, and providing patients with access to advanced therapeutic and diagnostic clinical procedures using biophotonic medical devices. • Built a low cost florescense microscope with parts gathered from scrapped DVD players and from a working webcam• Programed movable stages and camera with MATLAB by writing code that controlled stepper motors as well as the capturing of images with different filters • Soldered wires to an Arduino to enable a use of a breadboard to control device • Presented status updates to upper management on project performance
