About Jake Aronson, P.E.
I am a professional engineer with eight years' experience in the environmental restoration industry with a focus on stream restoration design and over 75 miles of designed or assessed channel across 10 different states.Outside of work, you'll likely find me exploring environmental issues and new tech, enjoying live music, skiing, or hanging out with my dog, Aldo (named after Aldo Leopold, of course). My first few years were based entirely in the field, in AutoCAD, and behind H&H models for stream restoration. As I gained more experience, I moved on to larger-scale modeling, mitigation credit calculations, construction oversight, and mentoring young engineers in 3D drafting, fieldwork, and modeling.As a Philadelphia transplant, I began my career in Williamsburg, VA where I shared time between the land development and water resources teams. At RES in Richmond, VA, I spent four years focusing on stream restoration design, analysis, and modeling in the Mid-Atlantic and Smoky Mountain regions. In December 2020, I received my PE license in the State of Colorado, where I helped to expand RES' national restoration practice.At Enginuity/Olsson, I grew my skills by tackling the unique challenges of Rocky Mountain rivers, floodplain permitting, and constructibility.Now, at Stantec, I’m diving back into stream restoration, mitigation banking, and GIS analysis on projects that reach from coast to coast.
