I founded Coeus Technical Ltd in January 2022 to undertake Fire Engineering and Fire Safety Consultancy services. Coeus is the Greek Titan God of 'the inquisitive mind'. Work includes Fire Engineering Design, New and Retrospective Fire Strategies, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls, Compartmentation and Fire Door Surveys, General Fire Safety Surveying, Client Side Advisor roles, and Fire Safety Quality Assurance.We undertake our work with a practical and proportionate mindset. Fire Engineering and Safety can be a challenging environment and no one solution fits all. With a background in construction, Coeus Technical specialises in on-site surveying and assessments. With practical 'on the tools' experience, we are capable of surveying and auditing sites not just visually, but using tools and experience to work with active fire systems. Reporting to the Principal Fire Surveyor I worked in a small team of Fire Engineers conducting fire engineering consultancy, surveying, design, and risk assessment work. I used my knowledge of BS9999 and ADB in undertaking desktop reviews of new and existing building active and passive fire protection and prevention designs and site surveys of existing building fire protection and prevention measures. Surveying assessing and writing reports on external wall detail, designing active and passive system schemes I also developed Fire Strategies and Fire Safety Management Plans and Systems for new and existing buildings. Conducting Fire Risk Assessments and Compliance Audits and providing fire safety advice to architects, fire officers, end users and responsible persons on fire safety communication was a key to achieving good engineering outcomes. I also collaborated with colleagues on Fire Engineering Design of buildings.
