I currently work on combustion development as a Powertrain CFD Engineer. My role in the combustion development group is to setup and post-process combustion and airflow simulations. I provide recommendations based on my results and the objectives of the simulations.• Collaborate with design, development and calibration engineers, as well as combustion development engineers to analyze detailed and complicated simulation results• Develop conclusions based off of the results and knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid spray and atomization theory, combustion and chemistry and other engineering concepts and theories• Validation of simulation results by correlating to measured data• Document simulation results, conclusions and correlation data in formal reports

My first position out of college was an associate powertrain engineer in Polaris' Engineering Development Program. The program involved four different engineering roles at three different locations. I was able to learn the roles of test , development, design and manufacturing engineers. I developed personal and working relationships with many employees of all levels and of many different positions.Powertrain Validation:• Tested one to three cylinder engines from multiple vehicle platforms on engine dynos• Performed extensive troubleshooting of both engine hardware and engine and dyno software• Improved dyno systems, documentation and procedures• Lead engine teardown reviews and failure analysisPowertrain CAE Combustion Analysis:• Perform advanced, transient, in-cylinder CFD for gasoline engines• Ran in depth analysis of the cold flow, injection spray and combustion results to lead to greater understanding of in cylinder physics and adjusted geometry to improve performance• Made recommendations to test simulated improvementsPowertrain Design:• Lead the design of three critical primary engine components that are will be used in production engine• Analyzed the components, from hand calculations to finite element analysis• Designed to strength, fatigue, weight and geometric design specifications and requirements• Presented designs to subject matter experts and design leaders in design review meetings• Supervised the CAD revisions of the components throughout the analysisEngine Manufacturing and Warranty:• Evaluated the current state of change management in manufacturing• Composed and negotiated new change management guidelines and supervised the implementation of the new guidelines• Analyzed post-sales warranty data of two high failure rate powertrain components• Collaborated with internal experts to conclude the failure modes and provide recommendations to appropriate parties
