Assistant Scientist, Microbiology AAIPharma, Charleston facility is a contract manufacturing facility specializing in lyophilized, microfluidized and sterile injectable pharmaceutical production.  Process Quality Control Management for facility compliance to United States Pharmacopoeia and European Pharmacopoeia standards. Responsible for inter-departmental coordination of the Microbiology department with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Process Validation groups to ensure project timelines for on-time product delivery to meet customers’ needs. Responsibilities also include Out-of-Specification and root-cause analysis investigation, process validation, environmental/product sterility assessment and water quality monitoring. Establishment/Modification of Standard Operating Procedures to address multiple foci of multi-department SOPs to maximize the efficiency of operations.  Company-certified trainer in: current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), environmental/product sterility assessment, process validation, and general laboratory and production operational procedures.  Also a member of the Haz-Mat spill response team, the safety committee and a Red Cross certified First Aid/Emergency First Responder.

Hired as lab manager to establish lab and interview and train Post-Doctoral Fellows and other laboratory staff, establish novel protocols and run daily operations of the lab located within the Hollings Cancer Center.
