I am currently a second-year biomedical physics major at Northeastern excited to go on co-op this fall. I am minoring in math and computer science, as well. After taking several multi-disciplinary courses across biological, physical, and computational sciences, I have shifted my educational focus to computational physics in biological and medical contexts, specifically optics and cancer research. In 2019 and 2020, I conducted independent research involving photon transmission and quantum tunneling through different media which involved both quantum theory and experimentation with a transmitter-receiver apparatus. Through classes such as Medical Physics and Computational Methods, I have expanded my knowledge of how photonics, quantum physics, and computer science applies to medical imaging and cancer treatments in particular. Although medical and biological applications of physics are my main interests, I also enjoy learning about other ways physics is used for good, such as in the environment.In my experience working as a martial arts instructor and a food runner, I have found I work best in collaborative environments where I can both share my experiences and learn from others. I have learned how to communicate effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds through my time teaching, as well as my experience in high-paced customer service.
