Leading a Sourcing team tasked with optimising group-wide Management Consultancy spend

Working collaboratively with the Cloud Services platform team to shape LBG's cloud strategy and leading a team of experienced sourcing managers to deliver best in class third-party solutions.

In this role I worked collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams across the Cloud Services platform to deliver optimal third-party Cloud-based solutions for the Group in a compliant and objective manner, using commercial insights to ensure that value is maximised and risk is minimised.

In this role I delivered on various major sourcing projects, with my main achievement being the successful delivery of an optimised contact centre outsourcing strategy for Group Customer Services. Working in a space notorious for fluctuation in demand, I delivered innovative and sustainable solutions which ensure that our third parties are able to meet shifts in our demand efficiently – this was particularly important to the Group when telephony demand grew exponentially during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this role I developed a strong commercial acumen, honing my understanding of the procurement process, my stakeholder management competencies and my ability to deliver on large & complex sourcing projects.

In this role I served as the interface for stakeholders across the Group into our Chief Procurement Officer. As well as responding to daily ad-hoc requests, I was responsible for overseeing the production of board level papers, coordination of exec committees and responding to regulatory requests. This role required the ability to manage and prioritise heavy workloads in a fast-moving, highly pressurised environment and enabled me to develop a deep appreciation of LBG's overarching Sourcing strategy as well as establish relationships with stakeholders across the Group.

My key responsibility in this role was to deliver on the highly complex and strategic Healthcare project, comprising of three large tenders, which resulted in the successful delivery of a joined-up, digitised healthcare solution which delivered an enhanced service experience for colleagues and substantial savings for the Group. I also worked as part of a team leading on other strategic pieces of work such as the Contingent Worker Solution project and led on pieces of work such as the Graduate Relocation project. In this role I established a strong understanding of the Group Sourcing process and the gained the skills required to manage large & complex sourcing projects.

In this role I reported directly into the Global Payments Managing Director. I owned the communications, learning and colleague engagement strategy for the business area of c.2000 colleagues. This included creating and delivering learning content to large audiences & co-ordinating people activity such as our colleague conferences. Further responsibilities included overseeing the development of board level papers and coordinating exec committees. In this role I developed a strong understanding of the overarching strategies of business functions, specifically in relation to colleague development, engagement and communications.

A role in which I led fitness bootcamp sessions to large groups of clients, this job helped me in developing both my leadership skills and communication capabilities. The sessions were kept fresh and different from week to week, ensuring that customers remained satisfied. In line with my Sport Performance degree, I also provided clients with training and nutritional advice to assist them in reaching their goals.

Going into different primary schools throughout Solihull, I was tasked with teaching the national curriculum of Physical Education to students. This involved delivering lessons I had planned geared towards educating and encouraging children to see the positives of a leading a healthy lifestyle. In addition to this, I also led several extra-curricular clubs outside of school hours.

Leaving school at 16, I signed a 2 year scholarship with then Premier League football club Wolverhampton Wanderers. This involved working in a highly pressurized high-performance environment, with elite staff members from various disciplines working together to produce optimal results both on and off the pitch.
