Currently I work part time as a Marine Biologist Environmental Technician contracting with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). My duties include maintaining positive public relations, while simultaneously acting as a mediator between the fisherman, dealers, and data end users. Being response for two regions from Maine to Massachusetts, I often travel from various locations collecting data and biological samples in the field. Data may range from things such as detailed fishing gear specifics, sector location verified with global information systems (GIS) & vessel monitoring systems (VMS), species abundance and diversity as verified through firsthand accounts, digital, and paper reports. In addition to collecting hard data such as species type, market category, sex, lengths, and weight. Lastly, I also collect biological samples & perform electronic monitoring. These samples are used to identify additional variables to include age and environmental factors that can be quantified to study a broad range of ways to enhance and sustain both the environment and fishing industry alike.

As an animal care technician, I was directly responsible for the care and welfare of our laboratory animals. This involved performing daily animal health observation checks and facility inspections in accordance with organizational standard operating procedures. Other husbandry duties were also required to provide the highest level of quality assurance and control.
