• Lead crews that sampled rivers and lakes in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico using a variety of jet boats, prop boats, and rafts to study endangered species as well as remove non-natives.Key Accomplishments:
• Surveyed a variety of waterways via electrofishing, netting, and seining in both boats and rafts across CO, NM, and UT
• Built upon my previous years’ experience rafting large crafts through mid-class rapid sections.
• Utilized jet and prop powered outboards with multiple hull types for single and multi day sampling trips on rivers and lakes.
• Lead multi-night camping float trips in lesser traveled backcountry river areas up to 7 nights.
• Completed MOCC training to become a certified boat operator.

• Worked on two weir sites where we tagged and passed up wild salmon for mark-recapture studies. Recorded data in Microsoft tablet according to protocols.
• Surveyed stream and river systems via hiking and floating while observing live fish, dead fish, and salmon redds. Collected data in iPad according to species and life stage.
• Other duties included: Scanning fish for CWTs, FLOY gun tagging, Weir building and maintenance, backcountry hiking, CB radio communications, seining, creel surveys.

• Worked within a team environment in potentially dangerous condition on a large body of water to perform vital Lake Trout research and various backcountry operations, requiring experience in camping, hiking, boating.
• Utilized several types of industry equipment, such as gill-net vessels to remove invasive Lake Trout at varying depths and suction dredges to smother Lake Trout spawning habitats. Completed 350+ hours of gill-netting.

Columbus, Ohio Area

• Increased hands-on knowledge of fisheries, fish identification, and fish and habitat preservation through field sampling of fish populations.
• Attained expert status with backpack, semi-raft, and boat electrofishing over the course of four months.
• Utilized analytical skills to during field work to enter data, survey fish populations, and analyze the environment, resulting in production of effective habitat scoring.

Performed day-to-day, full-cycle responsibilities of veterinary technician, including medicating, exercising, feeding, and caring for 40+ boarded dogs of all breeds, and efficiently assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures.
