Profile bio

About Jacob Waugh

Raised in Bloomington, Indiana, I am a sophomore at the Indiana University O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs studying Environmental Management and Homeland Security. Beyond the classroom, I am passionate about expanding the global knowledge base through academic research, and I pursue undergraduate research through the Cox Research program in Prof. Todd Haugh's Business Ethics Learning Lab. I investigate corporate compliance, white-collar crime, behavioral ethics, and the mechanics of the judiciary, and I have over 450 hours of research experience compiling literature reviews, gathering primary data, and analyzing data sets. I am actively working to connect my knowledge of white-collar crime to a project about environmental crime. My high school experiences sparked an interest in mentorship and service as well. I devoted the last three years of my high school experience to working in my district's after-school childcare program, mentoring over 200 K-5 students during my tenure. I recently finished my position as a summer camp counselor for summer 2023, and I am returning next summer in a leadership role as an Environmental Management and Education Intern. I am thrilled to merge my mentorship skills with my knowledge of environmental stewardship and change. As I move beyond O'Neill, I seek a career that incorporates my desire to pursue justice and knowledge by existing on the cutting edge of criminal enforcement and environmental regulation.
