As a University of Pittsburgh alum with a B.S. in Emergency Medicine & NREMT / Ohio paramedic, I bring extensive hands-on experience in emergency healthcare to my current role as a Research Fellow at the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In this position, I contribute to the advancement of EMS research while completing my MPH at The Ohio State University - College of Public Health. I will embark on the journey of pursuing a fully-funded PhD in Health Services Management and Policy in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University in the Fall 2024.My primary responsibilities include executing research projects, analyzing datasets, and assisting in the dissemination of findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations. This role allows me to combine my passion for research with my commitment to improving public safety and healthcare.Previously, I dedicated myself to providing patient care as an emergency department clinician in Columbus, Ohio, in a unique ED paramedic role. As a NREMT certified paramedic since 2012, I have also provided 9-1-1/emergency response care in dense urban as well as sparse rural communities. I am about to complete a Master of Public Health at Ohio State University, which has equipped me with the skills to blend practical emergency medical expertise with public health insights and emergency management skills. I have specific training and experience in the preparation and execution of FEMA mass prophylaxis distribution systems as well as and POD (point of dispensing) management. Beyond my professional pursuits, I am enthusiastic about wilderness medicine, resuscitation education, and community awareness programs. Personal interests like backpacking, drawing, skiing, and supporting Buffalo's professional sports teams keep my free time full!
