Serve as a power user for StarRez, the housing information system, and Portal X, the self-service portal; work with StarRez, IT, and campus partners to ensure functionality and integration with other information systems. Select, train, supervise, and evaluate the four Housing Operations Coordinators (HOCs) on the processing team. Lead the housing operations team which processes service requests from more than 8,000 residents and 9,500 meal plan holders. Maintain records for over 8,200 beds in campus owned, operated, or leased properties. Develop, implement, and maintain core processes conducted within StarRez, including contracting for academic year, spring-only, summer, or graduate housing, adding meal plans and selling campus dining passes, assigning rooms and roommates, billing for services, and collecting other requests related to housing and food services. Maintain and refresh the self-service portal to collect data for secondary processes such as early arrivals, arrival timeslots, room reconfigurations, mid-semester room changes, break housing, and late departures. Delegate processes to the HOC team, including a year-round process or campus partner, minor or short-term processes, and ad-hoc processing assignments; serve as the escalation point for each HOC and process. Serve as the primary contact for housing data requests; provide ad-hoc or scheduled report deliveries to non-StarRez users; establish and maintain dashboards, reports, and dynamic lists for frequent StarRez users. Serve as a StarRez subject matter expert for UC; liaise with offices developing or adjusting integrations with StarRez, train staff members needing to learn new features, share vital details about system use with StarRez representatives, and provide campus partners with demonstrations of the student self-service portal experience. Investigate system concerns to resolution starting with in-house troubleshooting; if needed, escalate and support IT and StarRez investigations.

Served as Senior Housing Officer and directed all administrative, educational, and supervisory functions for Residence Life program. Oversaw the operations of four residence halls and three campus homes with a standard capacity of 712 students. Recruited, selected, trained, supervised, and evaluated a residence life team consisting of two Area Coordinators (2018 – 2020) or three Residence Hall Coordinators (2013 – 2018) and up to 30 undergraduate Resident Assistants. Coordinated residence hall programming which complimented the institution’s liberal arts learning outcomes, tracked completion of educational requirements, and recorded cost and attendance data for division reporting. Implemented core housing processes including contracting for housing, compliance with residency requirements, returning student room selection, incoming student assignments, and residency intent surveys utilized for personalized messaging about upcoming processes, forecasting occupancy, and proactively identifying concerns. Administered the judicial process by reviewing incidents reported by Residence Life and Security, tracking and reporting judicial data, adjudicating cases, and assigning cases to appropriate adjudicators. Collaborated with the Dean of Students, Security, and Physical Facilities to respond to campus crises. Role modeled inclusion by preparing staff to serve students with intersecting identities from diverse backgrounds. Partnered with Physical Facilities to strategize maintenance and renovation of the residence halls and campus homes. Represented the Office of Residence Life at events including admissions visits, registrations, alumni events, and other special occasions.

Indirectly supervised an additional Associate Resident Director and eight Resident Assistants. Hall Director for Clark Hall (200 student, co-ed, suite style hall). Directly supervised a Desk Services Manager, six Resident Advisors, and eleven Peer Mentors. Oversaw all aspects of two living learning communities (First-Year Experience and Sophomore-Year Experience) and collaborated with the admissions department to oversee a third community (Student Ambassadors). Created a close knit community built around the interaction of these three living learning communities through social and educational programming.

Assisted with the operations of a 950 resident, co-educational, primarily first-year student, residence hall with two Senior Resident Assistants and twenty-eight Resident Assistants. Trained, supervised, and evaluated a Senior Resident Assistant and nine Resident Assistants in the areas of community development, needs assessment programming, and administration.

Served as a member of the hall leadership team with duty supervision of Resident Assistants. Created and maintained a positive community for a co-educational floor of approximately 60 diverse individuals including freshmen, transfer, international and returning students. Responded to emergency situations and completed official documentation and follow-up. Performed administrative duties including opening and closing the hall and attended weekly leadership team meetings.
