- Oversaw the policy, communications, and data and accountability offices for Louisiana's largest school district- Built the framework for implementing a portfolio strategy for school management and support that led the district to rise from a D to a B on the Louisiana district grading scale- Supervised the creation and execution of the district’s top strategic priorities- Established the district’s first public request for charter school applications and develop the policy and oversight framework for the school district’s charter management

- Managed a staff of five full-time and four part-time employees to oversee and develop policy for all of Louisiana’s state-authorized charter schools- Managed the state’s educational voucher programs, completing first-year implementation of a voucher program for students with special needs- Administered a $25 million federal grant for charter school start-up- Worked closely with school district superintendents to develop comprehensive strategy for turning around low-performing schools; led the development of a charter authorizing guide for local school districts- Implemented the state request for charter school applications, culminating in more than 30 applications submitted

- Designed and led the 1003(g) School Improvement Grant program, a $74M initiative to turn around the state’s lowest achieving schools - Managed the administrative and human capital functions of the 80-person Innovation Office, including the development of a competency-based internal staff evaluation tool

- Directed school district outreach and served as editor-in-chief of Louisiana’s Race to the Top effort, a nationally-competitive federal grant program - Conducted nationwide recruitment and led selection for a number of top tier positions within the Department of Education- Founded and directed the Louisiana Education Reform Fellowship, a recruitment and professional development program for early-career education reformers, laying the foundation for a broader talent management strategy within the organization

- Managed a team of six to recruit top college graduates to teach in low-income communities as Teach For America corps members- Designed and implemented marketing campaigns on eight college campuses throughout Washington and Oregon that led to a 39 percent year-over-year increase in applications- Cultivated relationships with 570 individual prospects, converting 34 percent into applicants (four percentage points above the national team-wide average)

- Selected as a 2006 charter corps member of Teach For America Hawaii to serve a two-year teaching commitment in a low-income community as part of a national movement to close the achievement gap- Led 35 third, fourth, and fifth grade students to three grade levels of growth in reading in two years, and a 75 percent passage rate on the Hawaii State Assessment
