About Jacob Linden
I am currently in my second year as a PhD student in Computational and Applied Mathematics at the University of Chicago. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington in June 2023 with a BSc in Applied Mathematics. Some coursework includes: numerical analysis, scientific computing, optimization, fast algorithms, stochastic calculus, and machine learning. I have extensive experience in both theoretical and applied math, and with programming in Python, MATLAB, Julia, RStudio, Java, and Fortran. My current research project focuses on exploring new lens designs for telecommunications and optics applications. Using integral equation techniques to efficiently obtain accurate simulations, we are able to obtain lenses with the precise specifications required for the advancement of these technologies.

Specifically, I focus on realizing the isometries of this space as a dynamical system whose limiting set is a fractal in the boundary. Utilizing methods of numerical analysis and optimization, I construct programs in Python that numerically compute.
