I am thrilled that the AWS Payment Cryptography Service is now generally available. Launching this service has been a fantastic opportunity for me. As the founding manager of this team, I had the pleasure of working with a talented group of engineers to design the service from scratch. This was an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing me to build a team from the ground up and dive deep into the world of hardware engineering. Some of the highlights of this process included designing a seriously tough rack to house some of AWS's most sensitive hardware, creating an isolated network fabric, building Rust-based services, and developing highly available API endpoints. Throughout this journey, my team and I have been learning brand new things every day, navigating both the highs and lows that come with developing cutting-edge technology. It has been an exhilarating and challenging process, but one that has ultimately been incredibly fulfilling. I am proud of what we have accomplished and look forward to seeing the continued growth and impact of the AWS Payment Cryptography Service.

As an EC2 Core Platform manager, I led a diverse set of 4 teams, including VPC Flow Logs, PrivateLink Control Plane, Gateway Endpoint, and an internal data service handling over 1PB of data monthly. I briefly became one of Amazon S3's largest customers, providing unique insights into rare failure scenarios and the importance of system resiliency.I took ownership of the PrivateLink team shortly after its initial launch, guiding the service through its early development and the implementation of key features like Endpoint Policies. I also owned the Gateway Endpoint service, facilitating the decoupling from the VPC control plane during a period of long-term maintenance.Additionally, I managed the internal network telemetry component, which was deployed across the entire EC2 fleet and later reincarnated for the Nitro platform. This critical data powers AWS billing, VPC Flow Logs, and the company's security and compliance obligations, representing a significant revenue source.My personal favorite service was VPC Flow Logs, which I oversaw during a time of significant change with the launch of the Nitro platform. My team worked to expand the data captured in Flow Log records and implement new internal mechanisms to facilitate log subscription processing. I also promoted a new manager from within the team to lead VPC Flow Logs when the previous manager moved on.Throughout my tenure, I navigated complex technical challenges, including system failures, to drive continuous improvement. I demonstrated strong leadership and team management skills, including promoting from within, while gaining deep expertise in critical AWS infrastructure services and their underlying technologies.

As a Solutions Architect (SA) Manager, I co-led the Public Sector Partner SA team. In this role, I worked closely with our major defense contractor partners, ensuring they received the support they needed to successfully deliver on their projects. By collaborating closely with these key partners, I was able to provide them with the technical expertise and guidance necessary to meet the unique requirements of the public sector. This experience allowed me to develop strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, as I worked to deeply understand the specific challenges faced by our partners and tailor our support accordingly. Ultimately, my work in this position contributed directly to the successful delivery of critical solutions for our public sector customers.

I supported a wide range of projects in diverse roles. As an Operations Lead, I managed a team responsible for multiple information systems, including servers, collaboration tools, and databases, with an annual budget of $1.2 million. In my role as a Software Project Lead, I designed software requirements, developed prototypes, selected technologies, and planned implementation strategies. I successfully managed over $10 million in projects over 5 years, while also serving on the Booz Allen project review board to provide oversight for technical efforts in the Air Force account.Additionally, I have served as a Contractual Program Manager for a $12 million, 8 FTE program, including a sub-contractor. As a Technical Solutions Architect, I led the migration of a defense system to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and acted as a Subject Matter Expert for a cloud policy compliance effort. I have contributed to the design and development of several IT systems, and have had multiple concept efforts awarded Booz Allen investment funding.As an Information Assurance (IA) Program Lead, I managed the IA compliance program for a defense information system, overseeing a security team in the creation of risk management documentation, security implementation, and compliance reporting.Throughout my career, I have maintained proficiency as a Software Developer, working with C#, SQL, and a variety of frameworks such as ASP.net, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Entity Framework.Finally, I have served as a Career Manager, overseeing the development of 7 staff with IT and software engineering backgrounds. In this role, I successfully promoted several team members and managed the placement of staff in overseas assignments.

As the SCRUM master and project lead of a US-based team, I was part of an international software engineering project. In this role, I worked closely with US clients to develop software requirements and deploy the KnowBook Learning Management System (LMS). As the Project Coordinator, I oversaw the execution against a sub-contract to Lockheed Martin in support of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter LMS project and its integration with the F-35 program's Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).Additionally, I served as the Government Liaison, interfacing with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R) Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative.As a Subject Matter Expert, I provided my knowledge and expertise in the E-Learning Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM).Throughout the project, I also contributed as a Software Developer, leveraging my C# skills to develop LMS features and functionality that met the organizational, community, and customer requirements.This multifaceted role allowed me to demonstrate my ability to coordinate complex international projects, liaise with government stakeholders, apply subject matter expertise, and deliver technical solutions - all while leading a SCRUM team to successful outcomes.

As a SETA (Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance) Technical expert, I implemented sample solutions to promote awareness and adoption of the DoD Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) specification for e-Learning content and Learning Management (LMS) systems. In this role, I supported industry partners in the implementation of solutions based on the SCORM specification, serving in both an advisory and verification capacity. This contract was previously held by Alion.As a Systems Administrator, I planned the IT system migration from the incumbent contractor to in-house management. I also served as the Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) for the project.Additionally, I contributed as a Software Developer, creating an open-source SCORM Runtime Environment and Simple Sequencing Engine using C#. I also developed the program website, http://www.adlnet.gov, and the ADL Registry website, http://adlregistry.adlnet.gov, using C# and Java respectively.Throughout the project, I acted as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting government and industry SCORM specification meetings and conferences, including the ADL SCORM technical working group, the ADL Registry Change Control Board, and the LETSI SCORM steward body.This multifaceted role allowed me to leverage my technical expertise, project management skills, and subject matter knowledge to drive the successful implementation and adoption of the SCORM specification across government and industry partners.
