Jacob grew up surfing in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. By the age of 12 he was travelling the world surfing professionally. When he discovered yoga around the age of 16 he was surprised how well yoga helped his surfing. "It helped me gain flexibility and core strength, which complemented surfing so well".By the age of 20 he'd lost the competitive drive required for surfing professionally; instead just wanting to enjoy feeling the stoke of interacting with nature and its power.This is when he became a sailor which fed his desire to travel but took him away from land and therefore people. As a natural extrovert, it was then that he decided to become a yoga teacher.In 2015, Jacob moved to Edinburgh to help build a start-up yoga studio which offered a range of classes. Here he developed his craft of teaching yoga; combining mind, body, and spirit practices to build strength, increase flexibility, and grow inner resiliency.What Jacob loves most about teaching yoga is sharing the stoke. He's come to realise that connection is the catalyst to consciousness - connection to people, to nature, to living - and without that connection life is meaningless. For him, yoga is all about sharing the good vibes.
