I am a senior mathematics major with a coaching minor student who works as a work study mathematics tutor at George Fox University. I am driven to help others learn while learning more along the way. I am capable of mentoring others in mathematics through Calculus II, and holding a basic conversation in Spanish. In addition, I am getting my education in order to get a career as a mathematics teacher at the community college level who can also coach sports, such as track and field, and football. I chose this path in my education because I have always enjoyed patterns and use them to broaden my knowledge. What motivates me:I am passionate about these things because one of my main strengths can be described as restorative. I use this strength to help others in need. In the past, this strength has been shown by way of being a listener to my friends, along with, helping others learn material that is hard to understand in the classes I have taken. Additionally, I am passionate about helping others learn by teaching sport specific athletic skills while helping others learn life skills in the process. However, I can also be competitive which has proven to be a positive asset in my past because it has allowed to achieve through getting tasks done or by motivating others to complete their tasks.How I spend my spare time:In my spare time, I attempt to learn more languages in order to be able to educate and be helpful to a larger audience. In order to achieve this goal, I am currently attempting to learn basic Swedish, along with other languages such as German following. This allows me to use and strengthen my pattern recognition skills while also learning more ways to connect with a larger audience through language development. This hobby became fully ingrained into my life when I went abroad to Iceland, Norway, and Sweden for a class at George Fox University. Before this trip, I took the time to learn some basic phrases and vocabulary from each language and it proved to be beneficial on the trip. In addition, I found these phrases to help enhance my experience abroad which motivated me to spend more time in this hobby and to learn.
