Job Title: Outside Supplier Process (OSP) Buyer – Aerospace and Defense ManufacturingAbout My Role:As an OSP Buyer in aerospace and Defense manufacturing, I specialize in managing outsourced machining operations to meet production demands while ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. My role bridges internal procurement of raw materials with external supplier capabilities, focusing on strategic outsourcing and supplier relationship management to drive production success.Key Responsibilities: • Supplier Management: Collaborate with machining suppliers to ensure timely delivery of outsourced parts, aligned with production schedules and quality standards. • Capacity Optimization: Evaluate and transition parts to OSP to manage internal capacity constraints, with a focus on balancing in-house production and outsourced work. • Supplier Onboarding: Identify and onboard new local machining suppliers to expand our supplier base and address capacity challenges. • Procurement Excellence: Negotiate contracts, establish clear Statements of Work (SOWs), and maintain alignment on lead times to minimize disruptions. • Continuous Improvement: Monitor supplier performance and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance supplier relationships. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and leadership teams to align OSP strategies with long-term goals.
