As a hydraulic engineer in the Hydrology and Hydraulics Section of the Kansas City District I have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes and complexities. Below are few of the roles and experiences I have had so far:• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models using HEC, GIS, and CAD software programs in support of military and civil works projects in the USACE Kansas City District. •H&H engineer for river weir replacement design; design process includes site visits, HEC-RAS 2D model development, evaluation of aquatic organism passage, and coordination with Army installation engineers. •Develop HEC-RAS 2D models to support of major levee improvement projects; includes data collection, model calibration, terrain modifications, and bridge modeling method comparisons. •Technical lead on storm sewer survey for military installations in Kansas; provide oversight and review of AE contractor submissions, and follow USACE quality control and assurance procedures•Develop H&H models for design of Section 14 bridge protection project that includes the design of bendway weirs and linear stone toe protection for bank erosion protection. •Build trust and strengthen relationships with partnering agencies to further the mission of the Kansas City District and to increase project opportunities for the H&H section of the District.

A member of the Dams and Hydraulics group where I designed stormwater management facilities in CA, AZ, and PA. I also assisted in completing permits for dam construction and removal in HI and AZ. Software expertise included AutoCAD Civil 3D grading and pipe networks, various hydrologic and hydraulic software inlcuding HEC-RAS, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, FLO-2D, and HEC-HMS.
