As a social entrepreneur with lived experience of the criminal justice system, I'm thrilled to join the Board of Social Value UK and use my expertise to support other social organisations to increase their impact and deepen their social value. By measuring our impact, we can prove the effectiveness of our services and continuously improve them to support more people more effectively.

After being arrested for possession with intent to supply, I was sentenced to a 28 month sentence. I served nine and a half months in prison, a further 4 and a half on house arrest.During my time in prison I worked for The St. Giles Trust as a peer advisor. I was one of five residents who would help fellow prisoners with housing, Job Centre claims and debt management leading up to their release. It was an incredibly rewarding job both in terms of the responsibility I was given and being able to help those who need it most to break the cycle of re-offending.

We partnered with several festivals in 2013, including V Festival, Beachbreak Live, Wakestock, Cockrock, Lounge on the Farm and Beacons, and we are currently in talks about distribution to festivals and events in Europe, the United States and Australia.Prices start at £40 for ‘The Lazy Buddy’ kit, which includes all camping essentials (except from the tent).The most popular package is the Medium Lazy Camper for 1, priced at £75 which includes a tent (large enough for two adults with luggage), a mummy-shaped sleeping bag, a foil backed foam sleeping mat, a n inflatable pillow, a compact camping chair, a raincoat and an LED headlight.The Lazy Camper was launched by 20 year old Jacob Hill who had a frustrating (and rather wet) experience at Leeds Fest 2011 due to some cheap supermarket camping equipment he had bought that just didn’t deliver. Following this he made a promise to stand against extortionate prices and poor quality equipment in the camping industry and provide people with a quality, convenient and affordable solution.

Organising music events for students aged 16 - 20 in my hometown of Halifax and Huddersfield.I started the business when I was 16, made thousands of pounds a week, then lost it all due to new government legislation. Left with £3,000 debt, I had a huge wake up call and worked it all off over the summer working at £6 an hour.It wasn't until August 2011, when I paid off all my debts and went to Leeds festival that I developed the thirst for business again! This is when I started The Lazy Camper.
