About Danny Jacobs

I am a very enthusiastic hardware designer with a hands-on/goal driven approach. The thing I like the most in my role is the challenge of translating the requirements of the customer to a complete design.My main focus over the years was being active as an FPGA developer in which I am still developing myself.Next to designing firmware I like to take the lead in keeping track of the progress of the project and make sure that everybody is aligned in the project. Keeping track of the progress and align this with the stakeholders is something I like picking up as well. Making sure that everybody is doing what they do best and aligning this with the team is what makes a team the strongest in my opinion. My goal is to create the best team for the job.Next to FPGA design I have some experience with board design and developing JTAG-tests. I have extensive experience with Xilinx, Altera and Lattice devices and tooling next to simulating my designs with ModelSim.Applications and tools:Xilinx: ISE, VivadoAltera: Quartus II, Quartus Prime, Platform designerLattice: Lattice diamond

My internship coach developed a device with which it is possible to download a video-frame to a pc, so it can be examined to see if the quality of the camera is according to the pre-defined specifications. Since downloading large frames to a pc went relatively slow, we tried to see if the current processor that was on the board could be replaced by a NIOS II processor on a high speed.
