Matt is a strategic, pragmatic and results-oriented leader whose career has taken him from investment banking to large technology companies to seed stage investing and new venture consulting to growth company executive. Matt is currently the CFO of HappyCo, a trusted all-in-one software solution that solves challenges for multi-family property managers and investors, and increases resident happiness.Previously, as the COO & CFO at Unacast (formerly Gravy Analytics) Matt led all finance, operations, product management and administrative functions and developed new business opportunities. He drove the merger of Gravy Analytics and Unacast to a successful close and integration; realizing the cost synergies that were the basis for the transaction. He has implemented market entry and growth strategies, institutionalized systems to capture and monitor KPIs, developed policies and procedures for organizational effectiveness and efficiency, built a culture of employee engagement and excellence, raised debt and equity capital, managed investor relations, and navigated regulatory scrutiny and compliance enabling the company’s continued growth. Matt has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, digital media and mobile software and services. Previously, Matt served as a Venture Partner and Senior Consultant at Acta Wireless where he led Acta’s mobile commerce and payments practice area helping clients understand emerging technologies and shifting market dynamics in order to develop new products, partnerships and strategies. Matt was also a Partner in LaunchBox Digital where he led all investment and portfolio management activities, and invested in and helped start 24 digital media and mobile businesses. Earlier in his career, Matt served as CFO of a mobile advertising company. He was also Vice President at AOL where he led major strategic corporate initiatives and helped define and grow AOL’s wireless and digital service businesses. Matt began his career as an M&A advisor with a number of investment banking firms in Toronto, New York and San Francisco.
