Jacob is a lawyer by training with expertise in higher education research, human rights litigation, and advocacy for the right to education. He founded the iRead To Live Initiative in Nigeria as a non-profit organization to advocate for quality education, civic education, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in rural communities. He specializes in research on education policy, children's rights to education, and the intersection between Law, Technology, and Education. Jacob is a recipient of the 2019 International Literacy Association Award (USA), a Global Advisory Council member of KDSL in Dubai, an Inspire Citizens competence trainer in Beijing, China, and currently serves as a HundrED Ambassador championing literacy. Jacob is a 2022 and 2023 Delegate to the World Bank Youth Summit. He hosts the Human Rights Café virtual chat to discuss democracy, civic education, and youth inclusion.
