To summarize myself quickly, I would say that my skills, experience, and areas of interest are all largely due to an inquisitive mindset - Since childhood I've enjoyed taking things apart, understanding how they work, building new things, and learning new information in general.When I was much younger, "building" or "making" things was, in my mind, a purely physical activity. As time passed and I began interacting with computers more, I found myself becoming more intrigued with them. When I first began learning about programming, every time I wrapped my head around a major concept, the more interested I became - What I realized is that developing software gives you the same satisfaction, and potential usefulness as working with your hands and physically crafting something. In addition, and most importantly, the only thing holding you back from continually creating bigger and better applications is your personal "toolbox" of knowledge, your willingness to learn, and your creativity. At this point I knew that this was the field I wanted to make a career of. I have recently completed my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Aurora University. My time spent at AU lead me to gain a collection of skills, such as Java, Javascript, AngularJS, HTML, PHP, relational and non relational database concepts and design, CSS and Bootstrap. In addition, I have built web applications within the Laravel framework and well as utilizing NodeJS as part of the MEAN stack - Therefore I am familiar with the concept of MVC design, and have experience developing software in a structured and organized fashion. Also, I have a less developed understanding of skills such as Python, Linux shell scripting, and Android.I feel that this initial foundation of knowledge and understanding, in addition to my eagerness to continue learning, will make me a valuable asset as I enter and progress through the software industry - Ideally with a focus on web development or mobile platforms.
